Andy,
You are right. Amadu Massally and co have
taken the first step towards your "two cents" with the housing
project
for Sierra Leone.
I strongly believe that an idea like this is the first step
in our struggle for real independence.
not the independence I marchched for in 1961.
Contact Amadu and I encourage everybody to do so.
Mr. Daboh: So who am I to you? I have heard you make mention of
your karamoh, your karande, etc. well I also have Fullah in me (a proud
descendant of the Wuries). What does that make me to you, or vice
versa?
On a more serious note, I want to take this opportunity to
publicly thank you for your supporting comments on the planned cities
initiative dubbed as 200,000 homes. Our good friend Andy Pratt, based
on your prompting, gave me a call on Saturday and we talked a bit about
it and I have just recently sent him an email with the executive
summary attached. Sierra Leoneans hopefully will see this project for
what is worth and warm up to it. Attached is a copy of the report,
which we will post in our friendly local Salone newspaper, The Concord
Times, whose Editor is one of our own Salone Discussion Group
forumites.
Like you claimed in your email re-posted above, I also strongly
believe that this is a first step towards "real independence." Now it
is up to us to convince Teglomah that we can execute this ideal free
from partisan politics in an election year. So I have copied here your
National Leader, Mr. Aloysius Foh, who is one of my original bras here
in the US (since my very early days here in Atlanta, GA)! I would like
him (and you) to know that if and when Teglomah buys into the vision,
it will be HUGE to our common objective to change the face of Salone
positively, forever. And Mr. Foh I need not put pressure on you by
claiming you as my original bra, but I want you to see if the project
has life on its own and act on your guts and wit... If you need more
information I will gladly provide such at your earliest request.
Karamoh Cillaty, yu kontinyu fo luk grun fo wi bra, luk gron fo
wi...
Sincerely,
Amadu Massally
